Privacy Policy

At GMTechSoft, we believe your notes are yours alone. This policy explains our commitment to keeping your data private, secure, and under your control in NotePilot.

1. Introduction

Welcome to NotePilot

NotePilot ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal notes and research management application developed by GMTechSoft. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use NotePilot on your Android device.

We believe your notes are private. Your data belongs to you — not us.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you create

Notes, folders, file titles, references (book names, page numbers, video timestamps), and folder color preferences you create inside the app.

We do not read, scan, or analyze this content. It stays on your device.

2.2 Google Account (optional)

If you enable Google Drive backup, we request permission to access your Google Drive. This is entirely optional. We use this permission only to save your notes to your own Drive folder and restore them on a new device.

We cannot see or store your Google credentials. Authentication is handled entirely by Google.

2.3 Theme and Appearance

NotePilot automatically follows your device's system appearance (Light or Dark mode). Theme behavior is managed by your device settings, and the app does not provide a separate in-app theme selection.

NotePilot does not collect or store manual theme preferences. The app automatically follows your device's system appearance.

2.4 What we do NOT collect

  • Your name, email, or phone
  • Your location
  • Manual theme preferences
  • Analytics or crash data
  • Advertisement identifiers
  • Any data sent to our servers

3. How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored securely.

  • Local Storage: All notes, folders, images, and metadata remain stored on your own device.
  • Google Drive Backup: If enabled, encrypted backups are stored inside your own Google Drive account. Only the dedicated NotePilot backup folder is accessed. No other Google Drive files are read.
  • Exported Files: When exporting notes as PDF, DOCX, or TXT, files are saved to your selected location or shared using apps you choose.

4. Third-Party Services

NotePilot uses only:

  • Google Sign-In
  • Google Drive API

We do NOT use:

  • Advertising SDKs
  • Analytics SDKs
  • Tracking libraries
  • Third-party advertising networks

Your Control

  • Disable Drive Sync anytime
  • Sign out from Google
  • Delete backups directly from Google Drive

5. Children's Privacy

NotePilot is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because NotePilot operates as an offline-first application, no personal information is transmitted to GMTechSoft servers.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You remain in complete control of your data.

  • Local Data: Uninstalling the application permanently removes locally stored notes.
  • Google Drive Backup: Backups remain in your Google Drive until you manually delete them. Disconnecting Google Drive revokes the application's access.

7. Security

Your privacy is important.

  • We never store your notes on GMTechSoft servers.
  • Google Drive communication uses HTTPS encryption.
  • Your local data remains protected by your device security.

8. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data. You can:

  • View notes
  • Edit notes
  • Delete notes
  • Export notes
  • Print notes
  • Disable backup
  • Disconnect Google Drive

Because we do not store your notes, we cannot recover, modify, or delete them on your behalf.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date.

Continued use of NotePilot means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.

11. Account Deletion

How to delete your NotePilot account and data

NotePilot does not create or store user accounts on GMTechSoft servers.

Google Sign-In is used only for authentication and optional Google Drive Backup.

If you would like to remove your NotePilot account and associated data, follow these steps:

  1. Open NotePilot.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Sign Out to disconnect your Google account from the app.
  4. Open your Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access and remove NotePilot.
  5. If you have enabled Google Drive Backup, open your Google Drive and delete the NotePilot backup folder to permanently remove your cloud backups.
  6. Uninstalling the application removes all locally stored notes and folders from your device.

Important Information

  • GMTechSoft does not store your notes or account information on its own servers.
  • Your Google Drive backups remain under your control until you delete them.
  • Removing Google account access does not automatically delete backups stored in your Google Drive.
  • Users are responsible for deleting their Google Drive backups if they no longer wish to keep them.
